Experience Motion Notion Music & Arts Festival!

Our new venue consists of flat level camping, cozy treed areas and a river with two sandy beaches - sure to provide the magical vibes that Motion Notion is known for. This is a site where many other loved events have taken place, so we are thrilled and honoured to be welcomed into this community.  We will transform the space into a unique environment in line with what Motion Notion is famous for.  We hope you will join us on this epic adventure of discovery!

Codes of Conduct

Those who have experienced the freedom, energy and visual/aural artistry that we and the attendees have helped create over the past 19 Motion Notions can attest to its truly transformative spirit and beauty. Journey to our magical world and be delighted by some of the best music and art on Earth at an incredible riverside venue.

The festival values and codes of conduct are simple but strong-

1) Respect other's space, time, and opinion.
2) Non-violent conflict resolution.
3) Care for nature, others and yourself.

 

Who/What is allowed?

  • Anyone aged 18 or more (18+ event)

  • Re-entry with wristband ($60 re-entry vehicle fee applies)

  • Alcohol at your campsite (no glass)

  • Vehicles, RVs and tents

  • Camping beside your vehicle

  • 'Inverter' Generators that are “Silent Running” and clean running 

  • Propane BBQs, Firepits, Fire Effects

  • Fire performers (if fire rules allows at the time)

  • Bicycles

What is not Allowed?

  • Pets/Animals (other than registered guide dogs)

  • Early entry or late leaving. Event runs 9am Friday to 2pm Monday

  • Camping/parking on roadways (you will be towed)

  • Glass of any kind

  • Drones (except for approved video crew)

  • Laser pointers

  • Tree cutting or nailing into trees

  • ATVs or dirt-bikes (approved art-cars are OK)

  • Illegal drugs, weapons, axes, hunting knives, pocket knives, box cutters, firearms, fireworks, flares, bear spray, prescription drugs (without a prescription of the correct amount). Confiscated items will not be returned.

  • Personal campfires (we will have communal campfires if no fire-ban)

  • Joyriding or stunting

  • Aggressive behavior or fighting

  • Loud or stinky generators

General Information

  • Be sure to read the Ticket Terms & Conditions

  • You must sign a waiver to come onto the land. You must agree that you will attend the event at your own risk - no matter what happens.

  • Only buy tickets through MotionNotion.com. Tickets can be transferred through Showpass.com if you want to sell your ticket. 

  • Your name must be on the ticket or you must be accompanied at the gate with the person who’s name is on the ticket you will use. ID must be shown.

  • Front Gate runs 24 hours a day.

  • Wristbands supplied at the gate must be worn at all times and shown to security when requested.

  • The cellphone signal very limited so do no expect to make/receive calls or texts. We are bringing in satellite WiFi to cover the main festival areas and stages. Access packages start at $9.99 and can be purchased at the festival using a credit card through your phone. Just log into 'MoNo WiFi' at the festival.

  • Vehicles and attendees may be searched.

  • All vehicles, (other than guest list) need to pay the vehicle fee (excluding motorcycles).

  • Re-entry is $60.

  • There is no grey water disposal, dump station or power for RVs. Wastewater must be hauled away if you come in an RV.

  • There is a greywater/dishwater disposal tank for people staying in tents to use behind the food vendors.  Please don't dump on the ground. 

  • Respect the land- use the garbage cans, recycling bins and porta-potties every time!

  • This is a Leave No Trace Event. Don’t leave us something to clean up!

  • Safety-check your campsite- cover sharp protruding objects and mark tripping hazards such as ropes, holes or logs.

  • Maintain 6 metre wide roadways for emergency vehicle access.

  • Before you leave, tidy your campsite completely, remove all stakes and remove string/ropes from trees so they are not injured.

  • There are multiple free potable water taps (see site map)

  • There is no "shower trailer", but there is a privacy shower facility for people to hook up their own camping shower bags.

  • A large selection of food and merchandise/services vendors will be onsite.

  • There is an ATM cash machine.

  • There are well maintained porta-potties with handwash stations cleaned and re-stocked twice daily with an onsite person at all times to maintain them.

  • There is one wheelchair access porta-potty in a central location by Main Stage.

  • There is a 24 hour Sanctuary Harm Reduction tent onsite.

  • There is a medical tent with 24 hour professional paramedics and volunteer first-aid people.

  • There are 24-hour professional security.

  • The nearest hospital is in High Prairie.  5101 38 Street High Prairie, Alberta, T0G 1E0.  A 35 minute drive .

What to Bring

  • Entry ticket (be sure to save a pic of the digital barcode on your phone , or print it off on paper since there is virtually no cell coverage at the event)

  • Drivers license

  • ATM bank card

  • Phone and charger

  • Tent and camping equipment

  • Several sets of warm clothing and shoes including a warm hat and gloves. Extra socks!

  • Full rainwear and rubber boots

  • River booties/Aqua shoes

  • Blanket

  • Tank of water

  • Swimwear

  • Towels

  • Costumes

  • Sunblock

  • Lip balm

  • Sunglasses

  • Medical kit

  • Umbrella

  • Shade/rain structure

  • Sleep mask (it is light from 5:30 am to 9:30pm, and bright in a tent!)
