Notion encompasses a diverse variety of musical genres intertwined
with related visual and physical environments so as to encourage
spiritual growth (and ass-shaking!) through the transition
& building upon different styles over time. Expect to
hear DJs and live-acts playing the following styles:
psytrance, electro, house, progressive, breakbeat, drum &
bass, jungle, tribal, ambient, techno, trance, world, percussion,
acid-jazz, downtempo, funk, rock, hip-hop, glitch, dub, dub-step,
psy-dub, minimal, idm, and experimental strains of electronically-influenced
music.
Some
newcomers ask, "Why are there so few lyrics in most of
the music?" To this we respond, "we don't want to
be told what to think!" Electronic music is uniquely
powerful in the way it can be used to construct a creative
framework in one's mind with which to build ideas upon. Musical
progressions and new sounds lead to discoveries more easily
without the interference of excessive lyrics directing one's
thoughts. A consistent, reliable rhthym with unexpected sounds
and melodies is invigorating. It's really a matter of living
as yourself, in the moment- a soundtrack for YOUR life- however
it goes. Don't come to the festival just to see and hear the
entertainment- BE the entertainment!

somebody STOLE the rented recording equipment
during the first night! If you know of anyone who "acquired"
a Presonus Firebox hard-disc sound-recorder, or any Sure M447
DJ needles for "cheap" around the time of the festival
in July or August of 2007, let us know. $150 reward for return
of any of these items and/or the name of the thief. We promise
your identity will remain secret.
